چکیده
A full term male baby born to a 23-year-old primigravida did not develop spontaneous respiration after birth. His heart rate was <40/min and required bag and tube ventilation; and shifted to NICU for further management. Antenatal ultrasound at 36 weeks showed single live fetus with grossly distended bladder with dilated proximal urethra, bilateral hydroureters causing significant intra-abdominal mass effect with anhydramnios; findings were suggestive of a posterior urethral valve.

Polysplenia Syndrome Associated with Situs Inversus Abdominus and Type I Jejunal Atresia
Polysplenia is a presence of two or more spleens in a patient and polysplenia syndrome refers to its association with various organ abnormalities in abdomen and chest. In about 20% cases of polysplenia syndrome situs inversus is present [1]. Polysplenia syndrome in association with situs inversus abdominus and intestinal atresia is rarely reported. We are presenting a case of polysplenia syndro...

In 25% of cases of biliary atresia associated malformations are present; polysplenia constitute 10-50% of these associated anomalies. Biliary atresia found associated with polysplenia syndrome, heterotaxy, and reverse rotation of intestine, in isolation or in various combinations; however its association with polysplenia syndrome, situs inversus abdominus, and reverse rotation of gut in the sam...

Situs inversus is an autosomal recessive disorder that causes organs in the chest and abdomen to be positioned in a mirror image from their normal position. Dextrocardia may occur in isolation or as part of situs inversus. Similarly, sit...
